Rachael Worby born 1950 in Nyack, New York is an extremely successful conductor. Her primary instrument is piano. Worby received a bachelor of arts degree in piano performance from the Crane School of Music and studied musicology, at Indiana University and Brandeis University. Her main conducting teachers are Jacques-Louis Monod, Max Rudolf, and Otto Werner-Mueller.
During her professional career she has conducted with many organizations including Spokane Symphony, Los Angeles Philharmonic, Carnegie Hall, Wheeling Symphony Orchestra, Pasadena Pops, China Philharmonic Orchestra, and Shanghai Symphony Orchestra. Her main focus these days though is the organization MUSE/IQE. Worby founded MUSE/IQE in 2011 and the organization continues to thrive. The mission of the group is “Through our community programs, we are especially interested in engaging the audiences you would least expect to be regular participants in the fine arts. Because on the inside, where the music reaches us, we are all the same.” They offer a lot of different programs that are all outside of what we would consider the traditional classical music venue.
