Elmira Darvarova
President and Artistic Director of the New York Chamber Music Festival
Elmira Darvarova is a Grammy nominated recording artist and the only woman to be concertmaster of the Metropolitan Opera. Darvarova has studied at the Guildhall School in London under the tutelage of Yfrah Neaman and Indiana University with Josef Gingold. She has also privately studied with Henryk Szeryng. Darvarova has won several awards, including the Gold Medal at the 2017 Global Music Awards, Gold Quill Award by Classic FM Radio, and the Boris Christoff Medal. A prolific soloist, Darvarova has played concertos with orchestras such as the Moscow State Symphony, the ORF Vienna Radio Symphony, the Rochester Philharmonic, the Grant Park Symphony, and the Columbus Symphony. Darvarova is also a founding member of the New York Piano Quintet the the Delphinium Trio, the Quinteto del Fuego and the Amram Ensemble. She is the current President and Artistic Director of the New York Chamber Music Festival.
